From the Baseball Victoria Awards Night on 8 May 2006:
While we still try
to come to terms with some disappointing results from various Grand
Finals this year WBCWEB will use this as the excuse for our belated
congratulations to those from Waverley and other clubs who received
deserving awards from the 2006 BV Summer season.
Obviously the club
has every reason to be delighted with our overall success in winning
the BV Div 1 Club Championship.
We are also proud of
our Batting Champion and MVP winner JARROD
HODGES who won the batting title with an extraordinary .516
average and who shared the (GS Heron Medal) MVP Award with our
former favourite LEE HOGAN of Blackburn. Jarrod Hodges also shared
the home run leader award for this season with Blackburn's Peter
Moylan who both hit seven.
We congratulate
Waverley's TERINA
STOKES after being voted Women's Division 1 MVP.
Following her
earlier national award at the Baseball Australia Awards dinner, we
also add our belated congratulations to Waverley's marvellous
Secretary ROBYN KARLSEN on her richly deserved Administrator
of the Year Awards.
... and not to
forget other award winners, Waverley Baseball Club also
congratulates:
The Geelong Baseball
Club on winning the Division One Firsts, Reserves and Thirds
Premierships.
Essendon's RUSSELL
SPEAR on winning the Pitcher of the Year Award.
